Salad art entry from Lea Mae, aged 8, showing a girl walking a dog

Salad Bag Art

Congratulations – Lea Mae from Todmorden!
8 year old Lea Mae has beaten hundreds of kids around the country to ‘bag’ our salad art competition. Her ‘cr-eat-ive’ piece depicting a girl walking a dog, was chosen by Carola Weymouth, owner of The Cookie Crumbles cookery school for children, from an extremely high standard of imaginative works ranging from palm trees to peacocks.

Also, well done to our runners-up Trent Swain, Emma Anderson and Francesca Louise who will each receive a Salad Bag Art goody bag.

A huge thank you to all those who entered our ‘Salad Bag Art’ Competition. Due to the high amount of entries we are unfortunately unable to reply to each entrant individually, but do check out our Salad Bag Art Gallery to view your artwork!

The Salad Bag Art competition was developed after new research showed that one in two parents play games at meal times to encourage their children to eat more healthily. Our competition, launched in August, invited youngsters to create a work of art from salad bag lettuce leaves, other green leaves and salad vegetables.

To see some of the youngsters ‘cr-eat-ing’ their salad bag art check out our day at Lena Garden’s Primary School (opens in a pop-up window).
